Learn to Dance

If you’re new to square dancing and would like to learn, we host regular Monday evening classes (Basic/Mainstream – Level 1) that began January 17, 2022 (new dancers are still welcome – first class is free, $4.00 a person each evening).  Learn square dancing with professional square dance caller Abe Maier.  Join us at the Monticello Middle School (East Entrance, Door 20), 800 Broadway St E, Monticello, MN, (map) from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Learn to Square Dance Flier

We recommend attending all classes since calls are taught in sequence.  You do not need a partner, singles or couples are welcome as everyone dances in a square with seven other people.  All ages are welcome, we have dancers from 8 to 96 years old.  Often, angels (experienced dancers) will dance with new dancers to help them.  The dress for classes is casual.  Graduation is scheduled for January 10, 2022.

Show up a few minutes early to get acquainted and not be rushed.  Wear comfortable clothing and shoes good for walking.  Light refreshments are provided.
